Terms of Service

Last updated: October 26, 2026

1. Agreement

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Home Energy Efficiency Program website and the services we offer, including free rebate checks, eligibility reports, and installation coordination. By using the site or submitting a form, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the site.

2. Our services

We help Ontario homeowners identify energy-efficiency rebate and financing programs, prepare applications, and coordinate installation with licensed contractors. We are a private company. We are not a government agency and are not affiliated with any government program unless we state otherwise in writing.

3. Rebate amounts and eligibility

Rebate and financing amounts shown on this site and in our advertising, including “up to” figures, are maximum amounts available under specific programs. They are not guarantees. Whether you qualify, and how much you receive, depends on the program rules, your home, the equipment installed, your household income where applicable, program funding that may run out, and the program administrator's decision.

Program rules and amounts change. We make reasonable efforts to keep information current, but the official program administrator's information controls. Confirm details before making a purchasing decision.

4. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and the owner or authorized occupant of the property you are asking us to assess. Our services are offered in Ontario. Service availability varies by location and is confirmed during your assessment.

5. Free assessments, quotes and installations

Free assessments and rebate checks carry no obligation to buy. Any installation, financing, or service agreement becomes binding only when you sign a separate written agreement with us or with the contractor or lender named in it. That agreement will set out pricing, scope, warranties and cancellation rights, and it governs in case of conflict with these Terms.

6. Consent to contact

By submitting a form, you agree that we and our partners may contact you by phone, text message or email about your request. You can opt out of marketing messages at any time by replying STOP to a text or using the unsubscribe link in an email. We will still contact you about any request you have made.

7. Accurate information

You agree to provide accurate and complete information, including your contact details, property details and household information. Inaccurate information may affect your eligibility, and you are responsible for any rebate you receive based on it.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Submit false, misleading or fraudulent information, or submit requests on behalf of someone else without authorization
  • Use the site to send spam or unsolicited messages
  • Scrape, copy or resell content from the site, or interfere with its operation or security
  • Use our content or name in a way that implies endorsement or affiliation without our written permission

9. Third-party links and programs

The site may link to third-party websites, including government, utility and manufacturer sites. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content or practices. Your dealings with third parties are governed by their own terms.

10. Intellectual property

The site, its text, graphics, logos and layout are owned by Home Energy Efficiency Program or its licensors and are protected by Canadian and international law. You may view and print pages for personal, non-commercial use. All other rights are reserved.

11. Disclaimers

The site and information on it are provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted or error-free.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Home Energy Efficiency Program and its owners, employees and agents are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost profits, rebates or savings, arising from your use of the site. Our total liability for any claim relating to the site is limited to the greater of $100 or the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Ontario or federal law.

13. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims arising from your breach of these Terms or your misuse of the site, to the extent permitted by law.

14. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect and use personal information. It forms part of these Terms.

15. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. The “Last updated” date at the top shows when they last changed. Your continued use of the site after an update means you accept the updated Terms.

16. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable there. Courts in Ontario have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to any rights you have under consumer protection laws that cannot be waived.
